Digitalisation & AI Campaign

De-mystifying digitalisation and AI in maritime 2026

Intent Communications is proud to present “De-mystifying digitalisation and AI in maritime”. Over the course of 2026, this project will bring together experts across the digital spectrum including leading voices in maritime as well as external players that are harnessing data and AI in ways that offer valuable learning opportunities.

AI promises unprecedented efficiency, but deployment must be driven by solid business cases rather than marketing hype that will translate into obsolete systems or extremely high costs. For maritime to truly capitalise on these tools, it must build  strong digital foundations by fixing poor data hygiene, fragmented systems, and a lack of standardisation – which can feel daunting without access to the right information and experts.

Over the course of 12 months, Intent Communications will provide a variety of platforms for discussion that include:

The Digital Summit

We will bring the maritime sector together with external digital experts at a high-profile event in London on 6th October 2026. With a mixture of conversations, case studies, workshops and more, this will be the event to be at for digital and AI thought leadership.

The Digitalisation and AI Report

We’ll produce a concise and authoritative guide to maritime digital best practices, including digital culture, commercial application of AI, case studies, and more. There will also be valuable contributions from our project sponsors.

High-Level Closed Door Roundtables

Our closed doors in-person and online roundtables bring together experts across technology, transport and regulation, as well as high-level business stakeholders and featured experts from outside our sector. Speaking freely under Chatham House rules, these discussions will debunk myths and old-fashioned attitudes as well as outline opportunities for competitive advantage. Every roundtable will have 2 featured speakers that are external to maritime.

  • London Roundtable – 9th October 2025 (AI types and data quality focus)
  • Paris Roundtable – 17th March 2026 (regulations and safety focus)
  • Singapore Roundtable – 23rd April 2026 (risk focus)
  • Online Roundtable 1 – May 2026 (Humans and AI on shore)
  • Online Roundtable 2 – May 2026 (Humans and AI at sea)

If you are interested in an invitation to our roundtables and would like more information please email Namrata Nadkarni namrata@intentcommunications.co.uk (involvement subject to editorial vetting).
