What’s really accelerating maritime digitalisation?

In a poll we ran at the end of last year, we asked the maritime community what they believe is the most important factor in accelerating digitalisation across the sector.

Leadership & cultural change came out on top with 56% of the vote, followed by upgrading legacy systems (15%), skills and workforce building (15%) and investment and funding (13%).

The message is clear: while technology, skills, and funding all matter, many see mindset, leadership, and ways of working as the real drivers of progress. Without strong leadership, a clear strategy, and a culture that supports change, adoption can stall before value is realised.

Do these results reflect your experience?

These themes are ones we hear time and again in our conversations across the industry, and they’ll be explored further in our upcoming Paris Digitalisation Roundtable – Harnessing data to deliver results.
